How I Rate Books

I have an idiosyncratic ranking system for books. I consider four different elements of any book to be most valued in my system:

  • Content: What is the book about & does the author bring forward this "aboutness" in a compelling & intersting manner?
  • Organization: Does the author organize their subject matter effectively?
  • Communication: Does the author communicate their subject in a readible & enjoyable way?
  • Beauty: Is the work inspiring?

There is a maximum value of 2.5 in each category, with a combined score of 10 being the highest available.
